2026 Implementation Plan of Boya Overseas Talent Training Undergraduate Program

In order to continuously improve the quality of student intake, optimize the structure of international students, and advance the development of Peking University’s “Double First-Class” initiative, Peking University (PKU) will continue to implement the Boya Overseas Talent Training Undergraduate Program for Foreign Students (hereinafter referred to as the “Boya Program”) in 2026.

 

Eligible senior high schools (educational institutions) in and outside China may apply for recommendation qualification under the Boya Program. Only senior high schools (educational institutions) that have obtained such qualification are authorized to recommend their foreign students to apply for the Boya Program.

 

1.Eligibility Requirements for Senior High Schools (Educational Institutions)

1)Senior high schools (educational institutions) should have strong overall capacity, a mature educational model, sound educational conditions, high-quality international student sources, and good educational outcomes.

2)Senior high schools (educational institutions) should uphold advanced educational philosophies and emphasize the all-round development of students.

 

2.Eligibility Requirements for Applicants

1)Applicants should possess comprehensive qualities, outstanding academic performance, lofty aspirations, excellent development potential, a strong sense of social responsibility, and a broad international perspective.

2)Applicants studying at senior high schools in Chinese mainland should, in principle, rank within the top 15% among foreign students of their whole cohort; applicants studying at overseas senior high schools (educational institutions) should, in principle, rank within the top 5% of their whole cohort.

3)Applicants must hold foreign nationality and meet the undergraduate admission requirements for international students of PKU for the current year.

4)Applicants must obtain a formal recommendation from the principal (or person in charge) of a senior high school (educational institution) with Boya Program recommendation qualification.

 

3.Implementation Measures

1)Senior high schools (educational institutions) intending to apply for Boya Program recommendation qualification may submit applications to PKU throughout the year. PKU will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of their educational conditions and outcomes, and those that pass the evaluation will be granted recommendation qualification. Institutions with recommendation qualification that commit no violations and provide no false information during the recommendation process shall have their qualification automatically extended to the following year without reapplication.

2)Recommending institutions should formulate their student recommendation and selection plans in accordance with the relevant requirements of PKU (Click to download), specifying the quota, methods, conditions, procedures, and rules for recommendation.

3)Recommending institutions should adhere to the principle of honesty and integrity, diligently fulfill their responsibilities, and recommend applicants to PKU in the name of the principal (or person in charge) after selection and public announcement. The public announcement period should be no less than five working days and should include the reasons for recommendation and the selection results. If no suitable candidate is identified in a given year, the institution may choose not to make any recommendation.

4)PKU will organize an expert panel to review the information and materials of applicants recommended by the institutions. Applicants who pass the review will be granted re-examination eligibility, and PKU will make admission decisions based on re-examination results, selecting candidates on a competitive basis.

5)In cases of violation or falsification, once verified, the recommendation qualification of the institution and the application eligibility of the applicant shall be immediately revoked, and corresponding responsibilities shall be pursued.

 

4.Application Procedures for Senior High Schools (Educational Institutions) and Applicants

1)Senior high schools (educational institutions) should submit the application form to PKU (Click to download).

2)PKU will organize an expert panel to evaluate the applicant institutions. Institutions that pass the evaluation will be granted recommendation qualification.

3)For applicants intending to enroll in undergraduate programs at PKU in the Fall Semester of 2026, recommending institutions should complete the recommendation and selection process by February 20, 2026 (Friday), and organize applicants to complete online application through the Peking University online application system for international students (http://www.studyatpku.com) by February 28, 2026 (Saturday).

4)PKU will organize an expert panel to review applicant materials. Applicants who pass the review will be granted re-examination eligibility.

5)PKU will organize the re-examination in mid-March 2026 and admit applicants based on re-examination results, selecting candidates on a competitive basis.
