1. Program Introduction
Peking University is one of the partner universities of the Asian Future Leaders Scholarship Program (AFLSP) under the Bai Xian Asia Institute (BXAI).
The AFLSP provides scholarships for outstanding students studying in Asia, offering a platform for students and educational institutions to build cultural bridges and foster lasting relationships rooted in mutual understanding.
In 2015, BXAI established a scholarship program at Peking University, with annual awards to up to 5 Asian students at Peking University's Yenching Academy and up to 8 Japanese students at other schools/departments of Peking University. The maximum number ofscholarships allocated to Peking University each year is 10 in total.
2. Eligibility
· Asian students at Peking University's Yenching Academy and Japanese students at other departments of Peking University
· Proficient in English
· Demonstrate integrity, honesty, and a strong understanding of international and cross-cultural issues; Show enthusiasm for volunteer service; Align with BXAI’s mission and vision
· Remain enrolled at Peking University as a full-time student for the entire duration of the AFLSP scholarship
3. Requirements for Scholarship Recipients
· Participate in the BXAI Summer Program
· Participate in enrichment opportunities as arranged and required by Peking University and other activities as may be arranged and required by BXAI;
· Disclose to BXAI in the event they are a recipient of another scholarship, tuition waiver or funding offered by a third party. While it is permissible for Scholarship Recipients to receive other additional forms of funding, BXAI reserves the right to review the specific terms of the Scholarship on a case-by-case basis.

4. Application Process and Timeline
4.1 The application by students of the Yenching Academy is integrated into the admission and selection process.
4.2 The application process for Japanese students at other schools and departments is described below (the application timeline is subject to change, and applicants should refer to the online announcement of the International Students Division for the latest details):
· In April, the International Students Division releases the application notice, and students submit applications according to the requirements.
· In May, the International Students Division conducts the preliminary review and submits the preliminary recommended list and materials to BXAI.
· In late June, BXAI determines the final list and notifies the University.
· In July, the International Students Division informs students of the application results.
5. How to Apply
5.1 The application by students of the Yenching Academy is integrated into the admission and selection process.
5.2 Japanese students at other departments submit applications directly to the International Students Division, with specific steps stated in the application notice issued for the corresponding year.
