Curriculum on Understanding China for International Graduate Students
In addition to the courses of the China Studies Program itself, PKU has specifically set up a public compulsory course on the situation of China, "An Introduction to China". The course consists of 11 lectures, taught in both English and Chinese. With modules as teaching units, well-known scholars are invited to give academic reports on China's development, covering aspects such as China's history, culture, customs, politics, economy, and law. According to the actual situation of different departments, diverse and rich courses on the situation of China are offered to international students, forming a curriculum system of "university + departments", achieving full coverage of education on the situation of China.
"China Series" English-taught Courses
The "China Series" English-taught courses consists of four modules: humanities, social sciences, economic management, and natural sciences. By making use of excellent teaching resources both within and beyond the university, the construction of English-taught courses is promoted with organization and focuses. These courses are taught entirely in English, including courses such as "Traditional Taijiquan: Philosophy and Practice", "China's Diplomacy and International Affairs from a Local Perspective" and so on. These courses are highly popular among international students on campus.
